What is the Empowering Women Campaign?

I realized that when I first started out in photography, I would always hear women say, “Oh I can’t wait to use you for our photos when I get married or have kids.” And I thought to myself, why do we have to wait for those milestones to celebrate who we are in this moment, or how far we have come? It truly bothered me that most of the women I talked to, felt those were the only two reasons they could hire a photographer to capture those moments in life. Well, not anymore! I want to celebrate you for who you are now, for how far you’ve come, and for what you’re still working towards. I want to personalize a session that is uniquely yours and represents who you are in this moment! Does this sound fun to you? If so, click ‘Join Now’ above and let’s get started!

“This shoot meant a lot to me. As as African woman, I was always made fun of for being different. Whether it was my curls, or the color of my skin. Not dark enough and not light enough. I never knew where I fit. I was denied some jobs because my hair wasn’t professional enough, it was too much. But I also was offered jobs to check the “Diversity Box” as I fit many of them. This photoshoot came at the perfect time for me. A time where I was ready to embrace my differences. A time where I had done all the work and healing! This photoshoot is meant for all the women out there that want to embrace their differences and understand how unique they are! I’m learning day in and day out how beautiful I am and how black don’t crack!.. Also I did wear all black for a reason. I believe it’s the color of power for me. I felt fierce, empowered, and strong. In a world where we are looked down at, it’s time to rise, time to speak up, time to change the system, time to empower one another, and stand by one another! It’s time for change.”
